PLC/ Control systems Engineer – Offshore Systems & Equipment

 Aberdeenshire Based | Worldwide Travel | Permanent Position
We're looking for skilled PLC/ Control systems Engineers to join our growing offshore services team, supporting leading OEM manufacturers across the offshore energy, marine and Subsea sectors.
You'll be involved in the development, integration, commissioning and ongoing support of advanced offshore equipment control systems, including:
✔ Offshore Cranes
✔ LARS (Launch & Recovery Systems)
✔ Walk-to-Work Gangways
✔ Winches & Lifting Systems
✔ Cable Lay & Mechanical Handling Equipment
What we're looking for:
🔹 Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Automation or Control Systems
🔹 Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs and HMI development
🔹 Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
🔹 Willingness to travel worldwide to support commissioning and offshore projects
🔹 Full UK Driving Licence
🔹 Previous OEM, offshore, automation or commissioning experience (preferred)
Desirable:
• Experience with Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Beckhoff or similar PLC platforms
• Marine, offshore or subsea engineering experience
• VFDs, motor control systems and industrial automation
• Hydraulic/electrical control systems knowledge
• Remote diagnostics and technical support experience
• Experience with offshore cranes, winches, cable lay systems or marine handling equipment

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a growing engineering business, working on the installation, servicing, commissioning and maintenance of some of the world's most advanced offshore equipment.
You'll work on:

Yard Operative

Location: Aberdeenshire

Employment Type: Permanent | Full Time

Role Summary

Hope Farm Plant is looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to support the day-to-day running of our busy workshop and yard. This is a varied hands-on role involving the preparation, movement and maintenance of plant, agricultural and engineering equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading plant and equipment safely 
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard 
  • Preparing machinery for hire, sale and workshop activities 
  • Assisting workshop technicians as required 
  • Operating forklifts and telehandlers (training can be provided) 
  • Carrying out routine inspections and basic maintenance 
  • Delivering and collecting equipment when required 
  • Supporting stock control and goods in/out activities 
  • Following all company HSE procedures 

Essential Requirements

  • Good practical ability 
  • Full UK Driving Licence 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Desirable

  • Forklift certificate 
  • Telehandler experience 
  • Plant or agricultural machinery knowledge 
  • Towing licence 
  • Previous yard or warehouse experience
